EVANGELISM

Our first church was started in one of the many buildings that were erected by the Standard Fruit and Steamship Company during the 1930's and 40's at our present Borel campus. Eventually a conventional style church was built on land directly across the street.

Today we have 33 churches and three stations which are congregations that have not reached the required membership level and requirements for full church status. Several of our churches exceed 300 in attendance each Sunday with our largest over 400. Church membership in 2010 was over 5000. In 1997 a Haiti conference was created for our Churches of God in Haiti. Every 3 years a conference president is elected by the church membership to oversee the churches and schools of CGGC.

Starting in 2011 a planned effort at reaching the unchurched and the forgotten through weekly scheduled evangelism was begun and is reaping exciting results. These efforts at present are done through a Friday afternoon children's ministry, basketball camps held once every month, street ministries, and a prison ministry at the St. Marc prison (300 inmates) and the jail in Verrettes (15-20 prisoners). The first 3 months of 2011 have seen more than 200 except Christ.
